[PRODUCT UPDATE] BIND DATA FROM APP,KEYBOARD SHORTCUT FOR SHEETS

We’re pleased to announce new features/changes on Studio (staging) published in this week. Following are the details about these features:

New Feature

• Builder
  • New Actions added –
    BINDAPI(). This action is used to bind data from API response to any control in your App. You can use this action in the way you use LOOKUP(). For more details, please visit the Studio Help link – https://help.dronahq.com/api/how-to-add-and-bind-apis-in-your-app/how-to-bind-apis-in-your-apps .
  • Functions Editor – Create your custom functions/formulas in Studio. Functions Editor option is available on the Studio home screen > profile icon menu. Under this editor you can create your customised functions and publish it to be used when building your Apps.Please note, custom functions are build using JavaScript and hence knowledge on JavaScript is necessary to create custom functions in Studio. • Sheets
  • Formula Column – bind values of a column dynamically using formula
    g. (col1 + col2).
  • You can work on Sheets using Keyboard Shortcuts. The following points will lists the various ways through which you use Keyboard Shortcuts- Cell navigation using arrow keys, tab, shift + tab
    – Edit cell by pressing enter key on that particular cell
    – While editing a cell, pressing enter or (up/down) arrow key will save value and come out of cell
    – While editing a cell, pressing escape key will discard the changes made and come out of cell
    – Double click not needed to edit simple cells like text, number, email, url, percentage (just move to cell and start typing).
    – Navigate to last row/column of the sheets with ctrl + arrow keys (down/u
  • Sorting in Sheets has been introduced. You can now sort any column in your sheet. Click on the down arrow icon on the particular column header. The column menu will show options to Sort A – Z or Sort Z – A for text type column for sorting in Ascending or Descending order respectively.

• Workflow
  • Formula Builder Wizard (on clicking ‘F’ icon) has been introduced in Workflows as well.
  • Similar to controls you can bind formulas using formula builder wizard in
    Input Task – the formula wizard icon is visible for option Use Formula to resolve User under ASSIGN TASK section
    Approval Task – the formula wizard icon is visible for option Use Formula to resolve User under ASSIGN TASK section
    Notification Task – the formula wizard icon is visible for option Use Formula to resolve User under ASSIGN TASK section
    Update Sheet – the formula wizard icon is visible when updating any column under UPDATE DATA section and inserting values for any column under INSERT DATA

                          Please note, in Workflows, this Formula Builder Wizard will have the following 3 options –
1) Static Data
2) From Sheets
3) From Tasks

Changes/Modifications

• Builder

• • Add API in app UI has been improvised. Also, when adding APIs in the app, the JSON response is now shown in an improvised way.
  • You can bind static data to advance controls i.e. all master type controls like sheet lookup, product list, etc. Such static data will be loaded just after page load..

• Sheets

• • Sheet Sync mechanism, sheet performance as well as user experience have been optimized.
  • Loader appears when screen size reduces to hide distorted UI.

Fixes

• Sheets

• • Duplicate options were shown in select list dropdown formula box.

• Builder
  • Single column binding not working for master controls like a table, product list, list, leaderboard, sheet lookup etc.
  • DATESTR and TIMESTR function not working correctly.
  • CALLAPI dynamic data sending issue – fixed. No need to use double quotes in CALLAPI().
  • Advance Multiselect – Single column data binding does not work.
  • Add Filter button under Formula Builder Wizard > Sheet > Select Sheet > Select Column modal, did not pre-populate selected sheet & column in the LOOKUP builder wizard.
  • File upload bug – Add More button was visible when you upload files up to the maximum file upload limit.
